Need Relief from Flat Foot Pain?

Many people who are flat footed do not know that they have this condition; they simply attribute the pain to other causes.
Flat feet, also known as fallen arches, is a condition that occurs when the arch in the foot collapses. The collapse of the arch causes the entire sole of the foot to come into complete contact, or almost in complete contact, with the floor. As a result, people with flat feet are unable to tread normally and are forced to alter their steps.
  Causesof Flat Foot
----------------------------------------
Many people suffer with low arches or a lack of any formed arch at all, may be very painful and this may be due to a number of conditions:
  • Developmental
  • Hereditary
  • Ruptured Tendon or Ligament
  • Cerebral Palsy or Spina Bifida

Symptoms

--------------------------
Most flat feet do not cause pain or other problems.
At times, foot pain, ankle pain, or lower leg pain are present (especially in children).
Adults may notice some symptoms. Their feet may become achy or tired when standing for long periods of time or after playing sports.

  Flatfeet Treatment
----------------------------------
Your child's feet will grow and develop the same, whether special shoes, shoe inserts, heel cups, or wedges are used.
  • Your child may walk barefoot, run or jump, or do any other activity without making the flat feet worse.
In older children and adults, flexible flat feet that are painless and do not cause problems with walking do not need further treatment once a health care provider has evaluated them.
If you have pain due to flexible flat feet, the following may help:
  • An off-the-shelf or custom-made orthotic (arch-supporting insert in the shoe)
  • Special shoes
Rigid or painful flat feet require evaluation by a health care provider. The treatment depends on the cause of the flat feet.
For tarsal coalition, treatment starts with rest and possibly a cast. If this does not improve the pain, surgery may be needed.

Club Feet Treatment : Foot Deformity Correction India

Does your son or daughter have clubfoot? Do you want to know how to correct this problem?

Clubfoot(talipes equinovarus) is a fairly common birth defect occurring in 1 out of 1000 births. A foot affected by clubfoot is inverted so that the toes point in and down. The foot twists so that the top of the foot is where the bottom of the foot would normally be. The foot is usually smaller than a normal foot, and the calf-region can be affected as well so that the two legs are not the same length. Were the child to grow up with clubfoot, he or she would appear to be "walking" on his or her ankles.

We provides club foot treatment at affordable rate.

Primary 4 different types of clubfeet consist of:
1. Congenital: A congenital clubfoot is really a foot having irregular bony disability existing from childbirth and not related to any kind of neuromuscular reason or symptoms.

2. Teratologic:
3. Positional:
4. Syndromic:

Clubfoot develops in-utero (in the uterus) and is broadly classified into 2 categories:
1.Idiopathic: An unknown cause.
2.Teratologic: Means non-idiopathic and also being tied into another systemic pathology. This form of clubfoot is usually more rigid and resistant to treatment. - Poliomyelitis, cerebral palsy Meningitis, Volkman's paralysis, Spina bifida and arthrogryposis are all conditions that can help initiate a clubfoot deformity.

Club foot is easy to recognize. The key identifying features are:
  • tightening of the Achilles tendon (heel cord)
  • inward turning of the front of the foot
  • downward-pointing toes
  • resting of the foot on its outer border
  • abnormal shape of the foot
  • rigidity and other changes in the movements of the foot

Treating pediatric clubfoot:

Cure must start during infancy only. Babies and young children are usually handled in various ways. Non-surgical methods consist of: Ponseti casting method and also the French physiotherapy approach to massaging, taping and stretching. In the event when these options won't function, after that child may go through surgical treatment.

Club foot treatment Cost in India is less compared to other states of India.

Joint Replacement: The Best Way To Solve Arthritis Joint Bones?

One of the most common types of pain people experience is joint pain. For those who have severe pain in the joints the treatment option is a minor surgical procedure called joint replacement in India. The surgical treatment of joint replacement in India is a very popular treatment option that has a proven success record. Most people who had pain in their joint and knees have undergone this procedure which has proved very effective.

Joint replacement surgery, also known as  joint arthroplasty in orthopedic jargon, is a procedure wherein a surgeon replaces the arthritic, damaged, or dysfunctional joint with an orthopedic prosthesis. Mobility can be restored by replacing the cartilage which restores complete joint functionality and movement. For those patients who choose total joint replacement surgery, many can have their quality of life returned and gain back their independence.Mainly joint repalcement surgery is done at knee, hip and shoulder parts.

Scoliosis Surgery in India - Cure Abnormal Curvature of the Spine

Scoliosis is one of the more common spine conditions. The goals of scoliosissurgery in India are threefold: straighten the spine as much as possible in a safe manner, balance the torso and pelvic areas and maintain correction.

Scoliosis is a condition in which a person's spine is curved. The condition can be classified as congenital (caused by vertebral anomalies present at birth), idiopathic (arising after birth and caused by unknown factors) or neuromuscular, where it is a secondary symptom of another condition such as spina bifida. Scoliosis refers to an S-shaped or C-shaped spinal deformity in the coronal plane (when looking directly at the person).

There are three main types of idiopathic scoliosis which are classified according to the age of onset.
Infantile– A curvature that develops before a child is two years old.

JuvenileIdiopathic- A curve that develops in the age range of two to ten years.
Adolescent Idiopathic– This type appears in early adolescence and is much more common in girls than boys.

There are three main scoliosis treatment options for adolescents:
Spinalfusion surgery is a complicated technique where the spine is straightened using metal hooks and rods, before being fused into place using bone grafts. It should only be carried out by experts in this type of surgery.

Scoliosissurgery cost in India is less than other western countries and provides various orthopaedic treatments at affordable rate.

Cost Effective Joint Replacement Surgery India

Joint replacement involves surgery to replace the ends of bones in a damaged joint. This surgery creates new joint surfaces.

In shoulder replacement surgery, the damaged parts of the shoulder are removed and replaced with artificial components, called a prosthesis. The treatment options are either replacement of just the head of the humerus bone (ball), or replacement of both the ball and the socket (glenoid).

Total knee Replacement

If your knee is severely damaged by arthritis or injury, it may be hard for you to perform simple activities such as walking or climbing stairs. You may even begin to feel pain while you're sitting or lying down.
The most common cause of chronic knee pain and disability is arthritis. Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and traumatic arthritis are the most common forms.

What are the benefits of joint replacement surgery?
Artificial joints may help:

  • Reduce joint pain.
  • Restore or maintain joint motion.
  • Improve the look and alignment of the joint(s).
  • Improve overall hand function.

Cost of joint replacement surgery in India is less than other western countries. Joint replacement surgeries are carried out under the guidance of well experinced orthopaedic surgeon in India.Focused treatment areas includes jointreplacement, arthroscopy, spine surgery, radiofrequency ablation(RFA), paediatic orthopaedic and foot surgeryetc.

Lumbar Disc Replacement Surgery : Lower Back Pain Treatment

The idea of lumbar disc replacement is similar to replacing other joints such as a hip or knee in your body due to damage or overuse.
Lumbar disc replacement is similar to other types of jointreplacement (such as hip and knee replacements). The concept is similar in that the surgeon is removing a damaged joint, and replacing this with a metal and plastic implant. In the lumbar spine, the goal is to remove the damaged, painful disc, and replace this with a metal and plastic implant. The implant is designed to move like a normal disc.

The theoretical advantage of lumbar disc replacement over spine fusion is that the replaced disc would allow motion at the damaged level and would not transfer stresses to adjacent levels. The goal is to achieve the same pain reduction as spinal fusion, but eliminate some of the complications.

Procedure
  • An incision is made in the abdomen to expose the front part of the spine
  • Live X-ray is used to determine the correct level(s) to be operated on
  • The disc is approached after carefully separating away the abdominal contents and major blood vessels are moved to one side
  • The disc is removed
  • A disc replacement device is implanted
  • Normal compression of the spine will hold the implant in place
  • Surgery takes approximately 1 – 3 hours

Disc Degeneration
The inner portion of the intervertebral disc, the nucleus pulposus, is a soft jelly-like substance that holds water and is well hydrated in the normal state. This well-hydrated nucleus provides visco-elasticity to the disc and enables it to act like a shock absorber. Due to a variety of causes, the nucleus pulposus can undergo degeneration, loses its ability to hold water and becomes stiff.

Disc Replacement Surgery
The aim of a disc-replacement surgery is to remove the degenerated disc and restore the normal function and movement of the spine using a prosthesis, thereby reducing the back pain.
Surgery cost in India is less than other countries.
We provide the best orthopaedic surgeons in India. And we Provide various orthopaedic treatments at affordable rate.

Scoliosis Treatment : Correct the Shape of Spine

Everyone’s spine has natural curves. These curves round our shoulders and make our lower back curve slightly inward. But some people have spines that also curve from side to side, and rotate. Unlike poor posture, these curves can’t be corrected simply by learning to stand up straight.

Scoliosis is a condition in which the spine—in addition to the normal front to back curvature—has an abnormal side-to-side “S-” or “C”-shaped curvature. The spine is also rotated or twisted, pulling the ribs along with it to form a multidimensional curve.

 Main Types:

idiopathic scoliosis: the most common form, with no definite cause, mainly affecting adolescent girls, but existing in three age groups:
        adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
        juvenile idiopathic scoliosis
        infantile (early-onset) idiopathic scoliosis

neuromuscular scoliosis: associated with a neuromuscular condition such as cerebral palsy, myopathy or spina bifida

congenital scoliosis: present at birth, caused by a failure of the vertebrae to form normally—the least common form

Causes:

There are many causes of scoliosis, including congenital spine deformities (those present at birth, either inherited or caused by the environment), genetic conditions, neuromuscular problems, and limb length inequality. Other causes for scoliosis include cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, and tumors.

Symptoms:

  •     Shoulders are different heights – one shoulder blade is more prominent than the other
  •     Head is not centered directly above the pelvis
  •     Appearance of a raised, prominent hip
  •     Rib cages are at different heights
  •     Uneven waist
  •     Changes in look or texture of skin overlying the spine
  •     Leaning of entire body to one side
  •     Rib prominence when bent over

Treatment Options:
    Observation
This is for curves that have a small degree measurement when you are growing (adolescent scoliosis), or for moderate size curves (< 40-45 degrees) when you are done growing. For adults, observation and physical therapy are for those patients who have mild symptoms and have curves which are not large.
    Bracing

This is for curves between 25 and 45 degrees in growing children to prevent further progression of the curve while growth of the spine remains. The goal of bracing is to prevent further progression since the brace cannot correct curves.
    Surgical Treatment
This reserved for curves which are generally greater than 50 degrees for adolescent patients and adults. Surgery can be performed for smaller curves if the appearance of the curvature is bothersome to the patient or if symptoms are associated with the scoliosis in the adult patient.

Knee Arthroscopic Surgery : Best Treatment for Knee Pain

Arthroscopic knee surgery may be a treatment option for certain types of knee pain. Arthroscopic surgery is a procedure that involves inserting a small camera inside the joint. Through other small incisions, instruments can be inserted to repair or remove damaged structures. Arthroscopic knee surgery is often called "scoping the knee" or knee arthroscopy.

Arthroscopy is done through small incisions. During the procedure, your orthopaedic surgeon inserts the arthroscope (a small camera instrument about the size of a pencil) into your knee joint. The arthroscope sends the image to a television monitor. On the monitor, your surgeon can see the structures of the knee in great detail.

Arthroscopy may be recommended for these knee problems:

  •     Torn meniscus. Meniscus is cartilage that cushions the space between the bones in the knee. Surgery is done to repair or remove it.
  •     Torn or damaged anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) or posterior cruciate ligament (PCL)
  •     Swollen (inflamed) or damaged lining of the joint. This lining is called the synovium.
  •     Kneecap (patella) that is out of position (misalignment).
  •     Small pieces of broken cartilage in the knee joint
  •     Removal of Baker's cyst -- a swelling behind the knee that is filled with fluid. Sometimes this occurs when there is swelling and pain (inflammation) from other causes, like arthritis.
  •     Some fractures of the bones of the knee

The orthopaedic surgeon will make a few small incisions in your knee. A sterile solution will be used to fill the knee joint and rinse away any cloudy fluid. This helps your orthopaedic surgeon see your knee clearly and in great detail.

surgeon first task is to properly diagnose your problem. He or she will insert the arthroscope and use the image projected on the screen to guide it. If surgical treatment is needed, your surgeon will insert tiny instruments through another small incision. These instruments might be scissors, motorized shavers, or lasers.

This part of the procedure usually lasts 30 minutes to over an hour. How long it takes depends upon the findings and the treatment necessary.

Arthroscopy for the knee is most commonly used for:
  •     Removal or repair of torn meniscal cartilage
  •     Reconstruction of a torn anterior cruciate ligament
  •     Trimming of torn pieces of articular cartilage
  •     Removal of loose fragments of bone or cartilage
  •     Removal of inflamed synovial tissue

Your surgeon may close your incisions with a stitch or steri-strips (small bandaids) and cover them with a soft bandage.
  •     Arthroscopic surgery is generally easier on the patient than open surgery.
  •     Many patients have arthroscopic surgery as outpatients, either in a hospital or in a day surgery centre. They have the procedure early in the day, and leave in the afternoon or early evening.
  •     The small surgical wounds from the arthroscopy, often not needing stitches, ensure a more pleasing appearance than the scars caused by open surgery.
  •     Because the wounds are small, the patient's immediate postoperative pain is reduced. Patients usually go back to work or school or resume daily activities within a few days.

Affordable Scoliosis Treatment in India

Scoliosis is a type of spine disease in which person's spine is curved from side to side. This spinal deformity causes a sideways curve of our backbone, or spine. These scoliosis curves are look like  S- or C-shaped. Scoliosis is most common  spinal deformity in children. They occur in late childhood and early teens, when children grow fast.

Scoliosis may appears to involve hereditary factors, because the disorder tends to run in families.
The common types of scoliosis may be caused by,
  •   Neuromuscular conditions
  •   Birth defects
  •   Injuries or infections of the spine
Signs and Symptoms of Scoliosis

The symptoms of scoliosis are not easy to spot, the most common symptoms may include,
  •   Irregular shoulders
  •   One shoulder blade that appears more prominent than the other
  •   Irregular waist
  •   One hip higher than the other
Types of Scoliosis

Scoliosis is a medical condition of spine disease, in which curvature of the spine can occur in children in a wide range of ages and through a variety of causes. It has actually been categorized into a number of different types, each with its own clinical characteristics. Each type of scoliosis is managed, or treated, by orthopaedic surgeons slightly differently than the others, so it is important to classify the distinct conditions in this manner. Mainly scoliosis can be classified into three, they include,

Scoliosis Treatment

Scoliosis treatment decisions are primarily based on two factors, they are skeletal maturity of the patient and degree of spinal curvature.
There are three main scoliosis treatment options are available:
  •  Observation: It is a important fact in scoliosis treatment, because   observation for curves that have a small degree measurement when you are  growing.
  •  Back braces: It is for curves between 25 and 45 degrees in growing children to prevent further progression of the curve while growth of the spine remains.
  •  Scoliosis surgery: Surgery needed for curves greater than 50 degrees  for adolescent patients and adults. The goals of surgical treatment are to obtain curve correction and to prevent curve progression. This is generally achieved by placing metal implants onto the spine which are then attached to rods which correct the spine curvature and hold it in the corrected position until fusion.
